HOW TO CHOOSE

DEMCiflex Computer and Electronic Dust Fan filters is available in an array of choices. This is divided into two categories : Standard and Custom Filters.

Standard Filters were designed to correspond with all the standard sized fans available and filter shape in square/ rectangle or round.

Custom filters have case specific designs to fit your case exactly. Any shape and size. Both these categories may be ordered with both black or white filtering mesh and the filter frame in any colour or metallic finishes.

DEMCiflex filters can be branded with absolutely any graphics, logos or detail you might require. Company details on the filters are quite popular.

So which one is for me? Consider the following, then decide.

1.    Determine if your case is ferrous or non-ferrous. Ferrous cases contain iron (Fe) and magnets will be attracted to it. Non-ferrous cases are made of substances like aluminium and acrylics. Magnets will not hold to these so you will have to indicate "non-ferrous" when you place an order. These filters come with an extra magnetic frame that must be peeled and stuck to the case around the intake vent that needs to be filtered.

2.    To determine where intake vents on your PC or electronic device is situated, use a sheet of paper and hold loosely in front of all vents. If the sheet gets drawn towards the case the vent is intake and if it gets pushed away it is an exhaust vent. All intake vents should be filtered. Please see our section on optimizing performance to get the most out of your DEMCiflex filters.

3.    Measure the length and width of the air intake vents and then choose the appropriate sized filter to cover that vent. The sizes of the standard filters are listed below. If the size that you require is not available as a standard filter or you need two or three filters in one, please feel free to contact us to order the size and shape you require. See our section on custom filters.

Some factors to consider when choosing the right filter for your computer case.

If your case does not have any fans blowing air into the case we suggest fitting a fan that does. These can be purchased at any reputable computer shop. Computer fans are made to be mounted that the air flows in the direction that the user may choose. Most fans have arrows somewhere on its casing indicating the direction that the vanes spin and the direction that it moves air. See our section on optimizing performance.

Measure the distances 1 & 2 shown in the figure below and select the appropriate sized filter from our filter section. Remember that the frame around the filter is at least 10mm wide. Sometimes it will be better to take a bigger sized filter to make sure that all the holes around a fan are covered. If you need to cover more than one fan with a single filter, this can be done by fitting a combo filter. See the custom section in our filter section.
